Grading: Declared Monument

The Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan was built between 1847 and 1862. It comprises three blocks, namely the Man Mo Temple, Lit Shing Kung and Kung Sor. The main hall of the Man Mo Temple was built for the worship of Man Cheong (God of Literature) and Mo Tai (God of Martial Arts), the Lit Shing Kung was built for the worship of all heavenly gods, and Kung Sor was constructed as a meeting place for the discussion of matters relating to the local Chinese community. In 1880, with the support of the general committee of the Man Mo Temple and local residents, Tung Wah Hospital founded a free school in Chung Wah College next to the temple. The temple's care was entrusted to the Tung Wah Hospital with the enactment of the "Man Mo Temple Ordinance" in 1908 and it was declared a monument in 2010. Since 1957, the TWGHs has organised the annual Autumn Sacrificial Rites at the temple. In 2014, the Autumn Sacrificial Rites of the TWGHs was included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory of Hong Kong.
